Unhappy Video Issue on wake w/ Windows 7 - 09-15-2009, 12:33 AM

Hey guys, I searched the forums and found some similar articles but none that really addressed my question, so I'm starting a new thread.

I just got my Mini 10 over the weekend and installed Windows 7 (the RTM build, 7600). I used Windows Update to download chipset drivers and used the Dell restore CDs to install the last couple of extra things.

The issue I'm having is that there seems to be issues with the graphics driver upon waking up from sleep. I will get the login screen, which looks totally fine, but when it fades out and the desktop reappears, parts of the screen are blacked out. If I move the mouse around, the areas around the cursor seem to come back to life, and with a couple of alt-tabs I can pretty much get everything back to normal... but it just bugs me because it shouldn't be happening in the first place. Any ideas?

My Config:

Dell Mini 10
1.6ghz Z530, 1GB ram
Intel GMA 500
160GB Hard Drive
Digital TV Tuner
GPS Receiver
Bluetooth 2.1

Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Me too. Just a bug comes from the video driver. Other than this, there should be nothing to worry about, except waiting for the new driver (next month?)...

Default Color Banning - 09-16-2009, 02:24 PM

I got the mini 1010. Out of the box with xp it had color banning on the home screen. I loaded windows 7 and its a little better but I am noticing color banning on pictures.

I have only had it for two days. Is this just the nature of the beast? I saw that they had a HD display, which I was thinking of sending this back.

Please don't use the Aero themes. If you use the Windows Basic Theme everything will be fine. This works for me. I also use 7600 and the Mini 10 with GMA500. I also tried the Vista driver 4.02 (Build 1006) which is newer than the Build 1092 for W7 which is available through Windows Update, but there are no changes for the better. Hope for new releases from Intel...
