If the car adapter output is 19 volts and has the same connector it should work (although, I think the D's have a different plug).
I got a car adapter on eBay for under $20. There are dozens for sale (Mini 9 or Mini 10, same charger). The one I got has different plug ends and a selectable voltage switch which I originally thought would be a good idea.....but it was a bad idea. I don't need the other plug ends and worse, every time I unplug it from the car, it's voltage has to be reset to 19v.
I was just scanning eBay and might get one of these 30 watt deals at less than $9.00 delivered.
19V DC Car Charger Adapter for Dell Mini 9 Inspiron 910 - eBay (item 320368443336 end time Sep-03-09 02:10:46 PDT)
There appears to be a lot of sellers listing what appears to be the same charger for the Mini 10 but at almost double the price. Go figure.
