Loud Speaker Noise - Dell Mini 10 - 07-15-2009, 01:25 PM
My Dell Mini 10 has a loud squealing / interference-type noise coming from the speakers most of the time. If the room is quiet it's very noticable, though if there's normal room noise you have to try to hear it.
Even if all the audio sources are turned off it's still on. Usually it comes and goes somewhat unpredictably, but sometimes it's audible all the time.
Also, if the noise is there and I open the Realtek HD Audio Manager from it's tray icon the noise turns off while Realtek is above all the other windows. If the Realtek window goes behind the other windows the noise slowly starts creeping back up to full volume and activity in a few moments.
It happens if the wireless is off, if the computer is being run by battery or power cord, any time.
I have seen a post about a similar problem here... :

...but it doesn't really help or provide any new info.
Thanks for the help in advance, Rob

Hi ! That's pretty much the quality I get for HD - using MPC home and coreavc pro. At least the sample videos run smoothly but I still get an audio problem (a sort of swishing sound). Anyway, video playback seems to work fine as long as it's not HD. I'm also interested in various issues for streaming video as per my recent post :
In my view, there are some basic programming issues that show up on the mini, whereas my main laptop seems to be oblivious. Curiouser and curiouser. Cheers, Saxo.
