Great guide SammyBoy - thanks! I got through the whole thing without a hitch, until the very end, when I hit a DRM error after the second reboot. I nearly posted about it, before reading the rest of the guide. Works flawlessly - excellent job. |

Once shouldn't get a DRM error after driver installation. For some reason, the kernel thinks the hardware isn't there and instructs the OS to boot up in low graphics resolution mode. |

Which version of Ubuntu are you guys installing? I did ubuntu-9.04-netbook-remix-i386.img but the desktop is painfully slow. I'm still going through the guide so hopefully it improves or should I be using the normal desktop build of 9.04? EDIT: Holy crap what a difference. Still think Win7 is much better suited to the hardware but the updates in this guide change it out of sight! Good work. So is there any further improvement going to desktop build? |
