Hi, I purchased a Mini 10 back in April (new and from Dell) and up until two days ago it worked fine. But now it has a problem – it will not connect to my router via wireless. The details are as follows:
If I click on the Dell wireless LAN icon on the taskbar (the one that looks like a graph) it tells me that the speed is 54Mbps and that the signal strength is excellent, but that there is limited or no connectivity. The link status tells me that there is no Gateway IP Address available, likewise for the client IPv6 address.
When I open up the wireless network connection from the control panel it tells me its status is “looking for network connection” or “limited or no connectivity”.
The wireless card is a Dell Wireless 1397 WLAN.
I can connect fine via a cable connection to my router.
Three other laptops can connect OK wirelessly to the router.
Dell support tells me that it is a software problem and any support is chargeable. I’ve also discovered that the Dell website doesn’t recognise the Tag – it seems to think I purchased the Mini 10 from somewhere other than the UK, so I’m unable to log into the Dell site for any sort of support.
If anyone has any idea what the problem may be then I would much appreciate hearing from you. In fact any help/suggestions would be much appreciated.
