It's Broadcom BCM92045 based, same as nyktunr got working (with issues) here:
Bluetooth Terminal Mod - Page 8

I'll report on it once it arrives, I guess!
Plugged it in and it was instantly recognised and working with OSX.

Status: A little slow to boot. Otherwise perfect!

I got the 2.1 version and it worked great.

The seller was great, his vendor provided the wrong cable, so he mailed me the correct one. His communications were very clear and kept reminding me to throw the first cable out.

Default May not work with Windows 7? - 10-07-2009, 10:22 PM

I ordered the 2045 2.0 also from the ebay seller in TX. I also saw after I paid with paypal that it says:

DELL mini 10 10v 1010 1011 2.0 Bluetooth Module + cable (not for Windows 7)
One bluetooth module with one cable

So I don't know what to do now. I already have Windows 7 installed and I just want to get the right BT for the 1011. Did you have luck with Windows 7 and the BT module you installed?

try the package i posted in this thread:

it has drivers for a host of bluetooth adapters and is quite compatible with Win 7.
Edit: it will most certainly support the BCM2045 chipset.

Mine has arrived and I've installed it. It all fitted together fine but it hasn't been detected by Ubuntu. Does anyone have any tips?

I've tried a couple of the modules from hellowifi on my Mini 10, neither would work. I pulled a bluetooth module from a spare Mini 12 and plugged it in, it recognized it instantly and loaded the software up. It fits in the mount, so if you have a spare from a Mini 12, it will work fine. I've got another spare Mini 12 module if anyone is interested, $25 shipped.

I bought my 2046 module from hellowifi at ebay some weeks ago and just did the installation along with 2G memory upgrade. After watching the two versions of instruction video at youtube, it went without any trouble. But I almost tried to plug in the cable upside down. Luckily, I realized that the upper side had some kind of hook shape like all the other plugs. After the module was connected correctly and everything closed up, I followed the instruction provided by hellowifi (interpreting "open" for "start" and "close" for "shut down") to enable the bluetooth and then installed the driver from Dell's service page (R210564). After that, everything worked fine.

The module shows up as BCM2046 Bluetooth Device with driver WIDCOMM Bluetooth Software
