HELP!!!!
As stated on your invoice, the Dell internal TV tuner is a Digital ONLY ATSC Tuner (US Models, Not sure about European models). You can't hook it up to your Cable or Satellite Receiver or converter box. As far as I can tell (and tested as well), it only receives Digital signals. It no channels are received when connected to analog signal such as cable box or satellite receiver.

I am the one that started this thread AND I have YET to get a resolution from DELL. I can't even get a spec for the cable from them. I have what I need, but I still want them to do what they are paid to do.

ARRRRGH!

Thanks to all our Mini 10 customers and to ones who recently ordered units with a TV tuner. A small number of the orders were recently shipped without the corresponding external TV antenna and adapter accessories.

To affected customers, we apologize for any frustration this has caused. We’re currently working on a solution to correct this, and will share more information soon.

Well I just got an email from Dell telling me that over 4,000 customers were shipped Mini 10's without the Antenna, the antenna adapter and the manual for the TV tuner. Basically any orders prior to 6/24 were shipped without the parts. They are currently back ordered. Apparently the vendor never included the parts when they shipped the tuners to Dell and Dell never noticed till we started calling. I also received a call from Dell support that they have over nighted me the missing parts and should receive them this morning.

Hauppauge Computer Works Online Store- Hardware

I just received a HAUPPAUGE! ASTC antenna I ordered from the Hauppauge! website. It is part number 00189. It is a small one antenna unit. The antenna extends. It cost me $6.95. Using it with the plug adaptor mentioned earlier in this discussion, I can receive 31 out of 35 channels on my Dell Mini 10 TV Tuner. Without the Antenna, the tuner can not pick up any channels.

I also received a brief email from Dell promissing me delivery of the missing antenna within 2-3 weeks. They said:
Dear Dell Customer,
Thank you for your recent order for a Mini 10 Netbook order...
Unfortunately, your Inspiron Mini 10 Netbook shipped without the corresponding external TV antenna and adapter accessories.
To resolve this issue, Dell will dispatch the external TV antenna and adapter accessories to the shipping address that was on your original order. We expect them to arrive within the next 17-21 business days.
We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Dell

BUT, if they don't send it, at least I can receive digital tv signals now with a small antenna.

I got a cheap MCX antenna off ebay and still can't get it to find any channels in the UK.

Just got this email from Dell regarding the missing antenna. Hopefully their antenna is better than the cheap junk on ebay - I can get one chanel on that antenna, and it doesn't help me because I don't speak spanish (apparently in NJ the strongest signal station is telemundo).
-----------
Dear Dell Customer,
You may recall our recent email to you regarding your Mini 10 Netbook order (reference xxxxxxx) which shipped without the external TV antenna and adapter accessories.
We can now confirm your missing parts have shipped. The parts should arrive in 5-7 business days.
Again, we apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused.
Sincerely,
Dell

Just out of curiosity and to find out how good the antenna is, how far are you from the transmitter towers? If you don't mind saying that is. What program did you use to scan with? Was it under windows xp or linux?

Anyone got a picture of it?

Dell Mini 9 Obsidian 2GB RAM Windows XP, Ubuntu 8.04.1 LTS on 4 GB USB Stick.
