I would upgrade to a 64gb SSD if I could afford it, but I can't. I was wondering if it is possible to install a 2.5" 7200 RPM SATA drive on the 10v? Also, how much of a performance hit would I experience? I was looking at this one: Seagate ST9250410AS Momentus 7200.4 Hard Drive - 250GB, 7200rpm, 16MB, 2.5", SATA at TigerDirect.com Please share your knowledge. |

You may want to consider a few things though when upgrading the drive : 1. Heat 2. Noise 3. Power consumption The larger and "faster" the HDD, the poorer it will be in terms of netbook use. Using a 7200 rpm may end up draining your battery, being noisy and causing heat issues... generally all of the things you do not want in a netbook. I would recommend snagging a Western Digital 5400 rpm. You can usually get those pretty cheap. Meklort's Blog | NBI Google Code Page | osx.mechdrew.com -- the best OSX installation guides |

I was thinking about going to a 64GB SSD myself, but damn the prices are as much as I paid for this thing. Not really worth it imo. "Life is tough, but it's tougher when you're stupid." John Wayne |
