I second mrdavo's question! I'm also super nervous about installing the RAM.

Also, on a side note, can I find 2gb DDR2 RAM for cheaper than ~$40 online? Seems like thats the price floor from my google search. Thanks all!

Seat of the pants answer is that it's worth it. Many people are content with 1 GB though. I'm never content unless I'm tearing something apart, and in this case, maxing it out.

To me, I think it was noticeable when I did it way back in the days of my Mini 9. On my first 10v, I hadn't even powered it on to see if it worked before I upgraded the RAM. On my "new" one, I powered on long enough to see it boot, then shut it right back off and upgraded the RAM.

Considering how many applications I typically have open at any given time, I'd like to think that it has helped.

With so many Mini 10's out there, how can I tell if I can upgrade by way of following the videos? The box for my Mini lists it as a iM10-2727. It has the Intel Atom Processor, z520, (1.33 GHz, 512 cache, 533MHz FSB). I am willing to try and upgrade my RAM but I want to make sure first that mine is upgradeable. Thanks for any and all help.

The Mini 1010 isn't easily upgradeable. These videos apply to the Mini 1011. There isn't a video out for the Mini 1012 yet, but it's a much easier process.

I forget what the Mini 1010 has, but if it isn't a VGA port, you're out of luck. If you have a VGA port, you're probably able to upgrade it.
