| Thanks for an absolutely fantastic walkthrough. I love my new hackint0sh netbook. I have one small query: Is it possible to access the Win7 partition from snow leopard, so that I could store files on the Win7 partition and have that accessible to bot OSs? |

| @ro-76: Unfortunately I'm not sure sharing files between the two OS's is easily achieved. The problem is that SL can read but not write to NTFS partitions and Windows cannot even read HFS+ partitions. As such you can share files in one direction from W7 to SL but not the other way. Plus, you'd have to copy the file to your SL partition to save any changes you might make. However, there may be a way to get Win7 to see the HFS+ partition or to get SL the ability to write to NTFS partitions. Prob worth running a google search to see if there are apps that make it possible. @Sword When you installed Win7 you had to format the partition you created in the SL installer. This erased the name you assigned to it. So, when SL mounts the drive it labels it Untitled. Its easy to fix. Boot into Win7. Go to Start > Computer. Right click the C: drive, select rename and call it whatever you want. Then both Chameleon & SL will label the drive with its new name. |

macfuse - Project Hosting on Google Code And a filesystem utility called NTFS-3G: Download NTFS-3G for Mac - Read-write NTFS filesystem driver. MacUpdate Mac Software Downloads Both are open source and free. Install them in that order, reboot, and you'll have full read-write capability of your Windows drive from within Snow Leopard. Just did this myself and it works like a charm. -virusdoc |

| Virusdoc, thanks for the amazing guide! Used it two weeks ago and my 10v is running great! I also ordered a new battery from Dell. I am having one problem. When I boot into OSX the clock is fine, but once I shut down and then boot into Windows7 the clock in 7 is totally off. Have you or anyone else encountered this before? |

EDIT: Check the date and time in your BIOS. Mine was off by 5 hours. I changed it there, and now when I boot into W7 it reads correctly. SL synchronizes time with network servers, and wouldn't have access to the BIOS time anyway since it can't interact with BIOS. EDIT #2: Well, that is weird. The BIOS time gets reset to GMT (5 hours ahead of my current time zone) every time I boot into SL. Booting into W7 does not change the time I set in the BIOS--W7 always reads that time as the current time. But SL is clearly resetting the system BIOS time to GMT. I'll do some searching and figure out why this is. |

| I used the registry edit method from this link of methods to fix the time sync issue. http://pcwizcomputer.com/index.php?o...d=65&Itemid=45 |

| Still loving the results of this guide! Quick q regarding sleep/hibernate. When I close the lid (in SL) the 10v goes into sleep or hibernate (no idea which). Little white power light glows and dims very calmingly. However, when I lift the lid, there is NOTHING we can find to revive the thing appart from holding down the power button and rebooting. For reference, during install, I DID NOT click the "Enable hibernate" button in netbookmaker. And from the list of quick fixes, I DID DO #8 sleep/hibernate fix. Any clues? Thanks, Sword ps - will we ever use Windows 7 again, lol? |

Rerun NetBookInstaller (should be in your Applications folder, make sure it is 0.8.3 alpha, the latest), choose your target drive, and check only these two options: -Install Dell Mini 10v extensions -Regenerate a system-specific DSDT.aml file -Disable hibernate and remove sleep file The DSDT.aml file is the one I think will fix this, but try it with all three. After this is done, reboot and see if the system now wakes from sleep. Mine wakes instantly. -virusdoc |
