Hey did everyone have this line in their invoice.

1 600-0039 State Environmental Fee for display less than 15 inches $8

WTH is that? Are our states just making up crap to get a $1 here an there for no reason?

AFAIK, should be $16 for Cal over 15". Looks like that state is nickle and dimeing any way they can!

Howdy everybody!

I ordered mine the day that they released and I got mine yesterday morning.

It's pretty nice. I dig. I got the extended battery.

I find using it to be rather enjoyable. Easier than a 9 inch netbook for sure.

Anyone want pictures?

Hey Volsfan,

You've more or less convinced me not to get the 6 cell! Holy cow ... that battery bulge annoys me!

What do you think so far of the screen and resolution. They cut 24 pixels off from the setting on the Mini 9 ... I'm curious how things read, graphics, apps ...

Thanks!

I really dont notice the fact that those 24 pixels are gone. For whatever reason Dell ships this with the big ass icons loaded at startup. I didnt sweat it because I reformatted and fresh installed XP to get all of that extra Dell installed crap off of there. Thus far, the screen size has not been an issue for me.

Yeah, the size of that battery does drive me nuts... it's really big, but I do get great battery life. Additionally, it's not really a big deal when I'm lying down using it, which is my primary mode of use.

The screen resolution is adequate. Nothing fantastic, just good. Something was wonky with the factory install of XP; I got an error message that my resolution and color depth were low when in fact both were maxed out.

It makes me wonder if they were swapping parts and installs in and out of regular mini 10 installs.

Hey Vols,

I got the same thing even with doing a clean install of XP (using the disk Dell sent). not sure what finally made it stop, but I think it was the check box in that message window thats popping up...something like "dont show me this again".

Cool, there's a fix.

It's not really a big bother, more just like an intriguing issue.
