I like that they kept the same basic design of the DUO with a bigger screen. I tried Win 8 on the DUO and found the apps had potential but at that time they were very limited. Win 8 booted much faster. I ended up getting an IPAD 2 and love it becauses of the more mature apps and intergrated gps ( I had an Iphone) I also added the ZAGG keyboard so it cost about the same as the DUO. I still use my DUO as some web sites require Windows as the IPAD apps have limited functionality and the IPAD does not support FLASH. I have found apps to replace all the functionality of widows software so I only use the DUO about once a month as opposed to daily before I got the IPAD. IPAD battery is much better. I also still use the DUO for storage and back up as it has a great hard drive. Don't think I would run out and buy the new DUO but it is the best design I have seen so far. I think Apple will wake up and come up with a product like the DUO that will run IOS apps with touch, Mac OS and Windows but haven't seen evidence yet. If they do I will not go back to Windows. I still think that for the price the DUO was a great choice and it can be upgraded to Win 8. Don't use the camera in the IPAD or DUO.
