On the french dell forum they started a competition
on reboot times, using a .vbs script.

my dell duo performed the reboot in 50 seconds.
theygot alienware I-7 machines in the competition
that are way slower.... !!!

So hands up for our duo !

for those who like to test, here is the link to the script:

I've actually gotten remarks about how fast mine boots when I'm showing it off, although I've never really timed it.
I'm just running a somewhat "vanilla" setup. I've applied changes to how the interface looks via Origami Experience 2.0, but I'm not shutting off any processes or stuff like that.

Have you tested this while docked to the Audio Station by any chance?
I wonder if loading the additional drivers makes any difference.

Good stuff!

I tested with normal setup.
I didn't shut down any services.
Only thing i did was :

autologin (so no need to type the pwd)

I do use an intel x-25m ssd.
I suppose if i optimize i might win another 5-10 seconds.
I didn't buy the audiostation, because i use a bluetooth
device to hook up the duo to my hifi set. and i think the machine
is a bit to expensive to use it as an alarm clock
That said, i would have bought it if it had a HDMI out, but it doesn't.
