ok I went ahead and opened up the dock to see how much space is in there and theres isnt as much as I thought. I will easily be able to fit the wireless 360 reciever but may have to rethink the hard drive idea.
Taking the dock apart was pretty straight forward.
Sorry about the poor quality pictures, had to use my phone camera.
There is a hole on the back of the dock, push a screwdriver through there and this will pop off the speaker cover.
There are 12 small screws under here to take out then run a card alng the bottom to pop out the front.
Disconnect the ribbon connecting to the docking connector.
Then take out the three screws holding in the speakers and disconnect the cables. (one is a little hard to reach and will need to be done with a screwdriver or whatever you have to hand).
This is what you are left with
It looks more spacious in the pictures but there reeally isnt enough room to mount a hdd. Shame. But i will be adding the xbox 360 reciever at some point.
Taking apart your dock will certainly void the warranty (although there are no warranty seals to break ) so i do not recommend people to take apart theres (unless they are adding something awesome )
Hopefully this sets the ball rolling for some awesome hacks
