Dell Inspiron Duo review -- Engadget

Crap Screen, Crap Stage UI. Too Big/Heavy....

I might be canceling my pre-order. They say the Broadcom card is included, but I have yet to see that on my spec sheet.

The only thing I am wondering is if an SSD would fix the horridly slow load times.

And a 4 page review by Trusted.

Interesting in that I understood the dock to have a VGA port, but the reviews here say no.

Well damn. That is a disappointment! However, the sluggishness could MOST LIKELY be solved by a nice clean reinstall of windows without all the bloat ware. The screen however is a total kill joy... Dell has done so good with screens in the Mini's why did they **** this one up?

I'll have to pass.

Not user replaceable battery, no VGA port, size, weight, above all else - sluggish.

Dell software dept have screwed it up, did you see how lnog the photo stage took to load on the Engadget video? Crazy, windows explorer would have just done the bloody job. They need to focus more on making the existing OS layer accessible for touch, not adding their own bulky stuff in front of it.

That isnt very inspiring...

I have 2 of them being delivered tomorrow to the wife and I for Christmas.

I was very impressed with my streak and figured I'd go ahead and take a chance on these :-)

Engadget admitted they were testing a preproduction unit, and it may have had the slower 5400 RPM drive installed. Let us know how your retail-version duos perform. I'm dying to know if the final build improves or even fixes the sluggishness.

I still wouldnt buy one.....I dont care if its a 5400rpm or a 7200rpm or even an SSD....there are too many other things about it I dont like, pre-production or not (non-replaceable battery, no SD, poor battery life..etc, 2 USB's....the list goes on).....no thank you
