Default Power supply for 11z (Dual core) doesnt light up - 06-12-2010, 03:13 AM

I have both the single and dual core versions of the 11z.

The power supply for the single core version lights up when it has power.

The dual core version doesnt.

it doesnt matter to me, but WTF? Why the difference?

I have an 11z with SU4100 and the power supply's connector does light up. Maybe you've got a "defective" power supply (the led may not be working).

I think you are lucky, I hate that blue light

I actually like the blue light. It's easier to find in the dark, and it's not bright enough to be annoying in the dark. It's also about the same size as the travel power supply I bought for my XPS M1210.

Yeah, the blue ring of light on my end connector gave out couple months after I bought mine. It still work alright and charges the battery. Weird thing was a month or two ago it lit up for a day before going dark again. Bad manufacturing.

For anyone annoyed by the blue light, you can draw over it with a black permanent marker - reducing the light output by 75%.
