Default 8GB RAM upgrade for 11z? - 02-07-2010, 03:33 PM

Is it possible? With only one channel and one RAM slot? Did anyone do it yet? Any thoughts?

It would probably cost twice as much as your 11Z. Do you think it would actually make use of that amount of ram? By the way where did you get the Wi-Max card and how much?

I was just entertaining the idea. I thought W7-64 would use all 8GB, unfortunately the only place where I saw it mentioned was on Dell's website, but unfortunately I was unable to find DDR2 in that size...

As for WiMAX, I bought Intel 6250 Wireless for $80 shipped from HK off eBay. Works flawlessly.

With the Pentium SU4100 not being able to accelerate virtual machines with VT-x, I don't see how one could use anything that required that much RAM anyway. And any design program that needed so much memory would most likely be slowed by the ULV CPU.
