Default 11z Price Went Up! - 08-27-2009, 07:52 PM

Just checked out Dell's website, and the price of the 11z just went up from $399 to $524! Oddly enough, the site still says $399 in some places. I chatted with a Dell rep, and they said that the $399 price was a "one week only promotion" and that I should have taken advantage of that instead of waiting (snarky *******...). When I told him I had to sell my Mini 9 first, he then tried to sell me a Mini 10!

This is somewhat of a bad move for Dell, since you can get a competitor's equivalent (Acer Timeline, Gateway 3110) for less. Maybe I'm just freaking out over a mistake they made, and maybe this is just a typo, but it's worth looking into. Anyone else notice this?

Sold my Mini 9 for a larger netbook, one that's easier on my wrists and hands.

And I play with my girlfriend's Mini 10v ^_^.

I saw it this morning and got into a chat with a sales rep, who said she would honor the $399 price, as I pointed it out in two different locations on their site, including the front page.

Honestly, I think it's a mistake. Give it a day or two...

Hopefully this will work itself out and the $399 price point will return (along with some configuration options!). Just gotta wait a couple days until my Mini 9 sells, and then I'm pulling the trigger on the 11z.

Hmm seems they need to keep it at $399, especially when they start adding colors and blue tooth etc, but at least it ships same day, my mini 12 took 3+ weeks

Thats sucks. I had friend who was gearing up to purchase one soon. I don't think they ever mentioned it was 1 week promotional price.

Well this is lame. I was going to buy it yesterday, but didn't get a chance (had to work late).

I just called, and even though it still says on their site you can get it for $399.00, the moron on the phone wouldn't honor it.

Guess I'll wait for a bit and see if there are any deals on it in the next few weeks.

They're trying to play it off as some kind of special offer for the first week only, which is BS. No where does it say LIMITED special offer. Just says it starts at $399.
