I just spoke with a rep who said it's a glitch and it should be fixed within a few hours. It is saying $399 on the actual page still. Will check back tonight!!

From everything I have read, the 11z seems to be the perfect option for me. Step up from a Netbook, but still small, portable & sleek at a good price. But now that I've seen it was at $399, I want to get it for $399! Patiently waiting for a price drop for now...

If you have to order it today, I would get into an online chat with a sales rep and calmly point out that it is listed for $399 in three different places, including twice on the dell.com homepage (its in the rotating graphic as well.) I did yesterday and the rep offered to adjust the price.

And if you get a rep that won't lower the price, find one that will.

They better honor it for me. I have purchased about 30 computers over the last 2 years. I can always use the old " I'll have to take my business elsewhere " story.

Looks like they changed the price to a final-ish $449. They changed all their promo graphics on the front & product pages to say "starting at $449."

I still want one though, and if I get enough from the sale of my Mini 9, I'll buy one. It comes to $445 total, w/ student discount, tax, and free shipping.

But, I do hope they offer some kind of promo pricing when options and configurations start showing up. Can't give up hope just yet.

Sold my Mini 9 for a larger netbook, one that's easier on my wrists and hands.

And I play with my girlfriend's Mini 10v ^_^.

Looks like Laptopmag.com picked up the story and have posted about it on their blog. Spread the word!

I'm hoping this new 11z gets much more better features like how the mini 10 has. Dell messed up badly with me, if they would have came out with the 2GB option sooner, my entire family would have gotten one.

Now they launch the 11z with not much to it and with 2GB, my family once again is waiting for updated features before buying.

Bad marketing on Dell.

Update: Apparently, the $399 models don't have a WLED screen?

Dell Inspiron 11z Gets $50 Price Bump

The $449 model supposedly has a "better" LED LCD panel. WTF?

I'd blame Microsoft for the limited RAM. They don't allow XP sales with 2GB.
