Default 720p MKV as 1280 x 544 - 06-26-2009, 01:22 AM

Total noob question...

A lot of the 720p mkv's have the description 1280 x 544. Does that mean they were ripped from 720's but aren't actually 720p? I thought I was getting flawless playback of 720p mkv's and now realize I might have mistaken my success :-/

Thanks!

It means the original movie had an aspect ratio of 2.35:1 - which is a very common aspect ratio.

If you want it to fill the screen, you would lose the content off the edges.
