Default Ubuntu thinks i have more space - 05-26-2009, 01:45 AM

i bought the ubuntu dell mini 9 with the 16 gb hard drive when i look at the drive prefs it says i have something like 60 gigs how do i make it so it is correct

What method/application did you use to look at your disk space? Do you have and SDHC card in the slot?

Maybe you got lucky and Dell accidentally slipped you a 64GB SSD. No wait- you obviously have a faulty SSD but I would be happy to buy it from you for $50 plus my current 4GB drive.

Actually I noticed the same thing with mine after it got back from the dell repair center and after looking at it they actually upgraded my 16gb ssd to a 32gb ssd for free. Lucky me. and you I guess.

Open the bottom panel and visually inspect the SSD. There should be a sticker there with some rather cryptic alpha-numeric gibberish. One of those lines should tell you the drive size.

i actually bought a 64 gb hard drive (found receipt) and the computer shows 54 gigs with 48 gigs availble
