Default Mini 9 or Mini 10 ? - 04-18-2009, 12:15 PM

I'm glad to be here,

I really can't decide between the 2, I like Mini 9 for it's SSD drive and 2GB ram, and I like the Mini 10 for the larger screen and larger keyboard, I also think the design of the Mini 10 is better.

Any thoughts to help me decide ?

Well both computers have their pros and cons, but what made me decide to get the mini 9 was for osx and the portability.

What OS are you hoping to install on the machine?

XP.

Maybe I should wait to see the new versions of Mini 10, they look interesting, the ultimate would 2GB ram and SSD for a mini 10.

Don't know about an SSD for the Mini 10, but the 2GB of RAM may show up in May. Emphasis on may show up.

The Mini 10 is really nice, but.....
I'd wait for the 2GB model.
I just can't deal with the 1GB RAM.
I even bought a really good SSD (OCZ Vertex, which is next in line below the Intel SSDs performance-wise) but that didn't help the video lockups even watching youtube.
You can check out my other posts for more detailed reviews.
I think my (second) Mini 10 is going back, to wait for the 2GB RAM and MAYBE, just MAYBE, the Ion platform.
THEN, you'd have the best 10" netbook out there, hands down.

Yeah, maybe I should wait, but why isn't 1GB ram enough, a netbook should only be used for basic stuff, is Mini 9 performing better than the Mini 10 ?
