Default screen resolution at 1024x768 ?????????? - 04-18-2009, 12:33 AM

I need to increase the screen resolution on my dell mini 9 that runs on XP. (The maximum resolution is 1024x600 and would need at least 1024x768). Programs using fixed window size does not fit in the highest resolution available. Land not being able to access the buttons below (accept, cancel, etc.).
Thank you

AFAIK, your only solution is to attach the Mini 9 to an external monitor that supports that resolution.

...and if you need to move a window and its not reachable then press ALT SPACE and use "move" option and use cursors to move window around...

I tried dim's suggestion and didn't work for my situation: XP Photoshop CS3 RAW reader is really, really hard-coded to 1024x768. It WILL open and display at over-sized 1280x768 but cannot be moved around to get below bottom partially hidden.

What worked basically making usable was freeware PowerPro49 that within huge number of options is the gem: right-click on window inactive space gives full scrolling control back. Oddly, the buttons to process or cancel are missing on RAW window, but enter and esc fill in functions.

This little app may provide 1024x768 window scrolling for many other situations also.

PowerPro49 defaults to add many other options that just needed unchecking to give me what I've been looking for (under >GUI tab >checkbox >right-click scroll >on):

Here is the GUI Tab with scroll checkboxed:

I had the same issue with Adobe Illustrator.
It's too bad that the programs are so tied in to minimum resolutions.

You could always just use normal Photoshop.
You can't see the entire palette, but you can use keyboard commands for almost anything you'd need, and it runs quite well on a Mini 9 with 2GB of RAM.
