Default First post - 2 Mini 9's on the way - 04-16-2009, 03:42 PM

What's up Mini'ers?

I've been lurking for a while, reading all I can to decide if a Mini 9 would be right for me, and now that I ordered a Mini 9, I decided to finally register.

With the Dell Outlet sale that was going on over the last weekend I was able to pick up two Mini 9's for what I think were great prices, and I'm (im)patiently waiting for them to show up.

Both are Obsidian Black basic models with 512MB RAM, 4GB SSD, no webcam, no BT and running Ubuntu.
One cost $160, and the other, which I hadn't even planned on buying but couldn't resist, was $135.

I've got a 32GB Super Talent SSD (although I'm wondering if I should have bit the bullet and bought the RunCore) and 2GB of Kingston RAM waiting to go into one of them, and a copy of OS X on a thumbdrive ready to be installed.

I've got a ton of questions, and a heavy modding bug, so I'll be around.

Welcome. I can't blame you for buying an extra one for $135. I tried to myself, but they were pretty elusive.

I hope you receive your Minis quickly and start enjoying them.

My first Mini 9 arrived today.

32GB SSD and 2GB RAM are already in.

OS X install is underway as I type this..."Time Remaining: About 13 minutes"

Let me know how the SuperTalent SSD and Kingston RAM treat you. Those are the exact upgrades I'm hoping to buy soon.

Enjoy your mini...mine is sitting at the FedEx distribution center 30 miles away, so I still have to dream...I hope it finishes its trip to my door tomorrow.
