Default Directing My Documents to SD card? - 04-12-2009, 04:39 PM

I finally received my mini and was wondering- when you hit start it shows My Documents, My Pictures, My Music and so on, is there any way to get XP to go to a similar directory on my SD card, instead of the SSD? I did this with my desktop, however it was across 2 hard drives, not removable storage.

I think my solution might be something with mounting the SD card, but I'm not sure... If anyone has done this please reply. I've tried adjusting the properties of the My Documents folder, but its location cannot be changed. I cant find a solution anywhere.

Thanks

The default location of My Documents folder is located at C:\Documents and Settings\X\My Documents, where "X" is the name of the user. Two methods can be used to move the folder:

First Method:

1) Open My Computer.
2) Right click on My Documents and from the sub-menu select properties.
3) Change the target folder path and Apply.

Second Method:

1) Open My Computer.
2) Right click on My Documents present and from the sub-menu select Cut
3) Navigate to the location where you want to save the folder, right click and select Paste.

Hey thanks! The first method didn't work for me, but the second did the trick.
