Default Newb questions on the mini 12 - 04-07-2009, 05:56 PM

I am looking at getting a Mini 12. The Dell outlet has some with a 6-cell battery, Atom 1330 and Ubuntu for $299. My questions are this:
1) I have an external USB DVD/CD ROM drive. How hard would it be to remove Ubuntu and install XP (buying a mini 12 with xp is about $60 more)?
2) How does the Atom 1330 do with playing AVI movies?
3) What kind of battery life do you get with the 6-cell battery?

removing ubuntu and installing xp should be easy. Not that you'd want to. ubuntu is far superior to any windows release in almost every way.
I play video fine, the quality is good. Only thing is the annoying lockups I get. but these aren;t because of playing the files, that's a far deeper routed issue.
and as for battery life... I get a shade off 2 hours with a 3 cell. I have brightness on my monitor almost all the way up though, and it's in constant use for those two hours. If i left it with the screen locked for that amount of time, I'm guessing it'd be way more.
