Default Black Screen and 2-1-1 Beeps HELP!! - 03-26-2009, 05:35 PM

Hi,

I'm new here, and received today my dell mini 9.
Really excited and everything, I still played around a little with ubuntu and then processed in order to change both RAM and SSD so later I could install OSX.

First the SSD screw got suck on is removal and I had to make a "hole" in the screw to remove it, just a minor problem that I resolve in a couple of minutes.
Glad I resolve that but then after I install the new 2GB RAM stick and the 64SDD, when I pressed the ON button the computer don't start.

All I see is a Black Screen and I only hear 4 beeps, 2 in a row, followed by 1 followed again by another 1 (2-1-1).
For what I could see it seems that the problem is: 2-1-1 / 1st 64K RAM chip or data line failure - bit 0

I re-install again the initial RAM and the initial SSD but the problem still continues.

Any other ideas before sending the computer over to dell? do you think that they will create a problem regarding the SDD screw?

(Sorry if I made any mistake on the written text above, but English is not my mother-tongue)

When you played around with the SSD screw could you have made any metal filings that could have got onto the motherboard?

Yes, now that you make me think, maybe with the hole that I make in the screw, a couple of metal from it could eventually have got onto the motherboard.
So I guess I made a big mess and now to fix this I really have to go to Dell, but the point that I would like to clear is if Dell would accept this in the warranty or do I have to pay for the fix.
