Just orderd my Mini 9 yesterday. Has Ubuntu with a 8Gig SSD. I haven't a clue how to use Ubuntu but couldn't resist the $229 price. Guess I'll have to learn.

Is this a Dell modified Ubuntu? Any easier than regular? Is it 8.04 or current..8.10? Is it possible to get Windows programs running in Ubuntu? Have something called Shareasa I would like to try.

I'm mostly interested in internet browsing with occasional downloads.

Was thinking if I can't get the hang of Ubuntu to install Windows XP on it but wondering if the 8Gig SSD is large enough.
Or is there a modified/slim version of XP?

Looks like I'll be picking a forum soon for help.

I think it's just normal Ubuntu. Boot times with ubuntu are really fast and for general browsing or whatever you should be fine.

Check out wine for running windows apps in linux:

8GB should be fine for installing XP. If you get some crazy itch to put OSX on there, the 8GB could be a problem...
