Default xp minimum size - 03-16-2009, 08:50 PM

What would be the minimum size sshd to install xp home. I only need IE to access my company . I want to run osx on my 16gig and it probably quicker just swap out drives and not worry about dual booting

XP Pro SP3 full install took @3GB on my Mini...

I used nLite to remove all of the nonsense I didn't need from XP Pro, install SP3, and load the drivers for all of the Dell hardware. Total install after disabling the page file was less than 2GB.

Just as a warning, unless you're running the 2GB setup (which you should be w/ OSX anyway) you'll kinda need the pagefile.

/really want a 4GB RAM upgrade

Completely agree with above poster. You need to have a nLited XP if you have a 4GB SSD. It only takes up about 500-600MBs for me. And I had to turn the page file off. But I do have 2GB of RAM.

And it sure beats Ubuntu! :lol:
