Ubuntu 8.10 or Dell Remix 8.04? - 03-15-2009, 06:23 PM
I just got my mini 9, with only 4 GB SSD and 512 MB RAM. 2 GB from Newegg is coming soon, and I plan on getting a runcore from timfatefvn on ebay, 16 GB. Then I'll put Leopard on it. Until I get that, though, I want to use Ubuntu.
I read that the netbook remix is optimized for the Atom processor. So, I'd prefer to go with that. However, I don't think that there is an 8.10 remix edition. Is there a reason to stick with the remix from Dell, like better battery life? Or should I just install Desktop Ubuntu 8.10? I don't care about the dell custom interface, and just use the classic ubuntu desktop.
Thanks for your advice.
