Default Core Temps!!!! - 03-14-2009, 08:02 PM

Hi everyone..I am rewriting this post since I haven't received much feedback from the "hardware issues" section.. I just received my mini 9 and I downloaded coretemp. The unit to me, seems to run a little warm..maybe borderline hot. When running Kaspersky and Skype at the same time, the core temp runs at about 65-70. Is this normal operating temp? I was doing a windows update and the core temp was spiking up to 75-80.. Wouldn't stay there, just spike for around a second or two and then go back to 65-70. Please, someone who has a deep insight on this subject, please reply.. I know I can't be the only one wondering this. Thanks....

There's quite a bit discussion of temps in the forum. 65-70 is normal for the Mini9 and its passive cooling system. I have seen peaks around 75 but not higher, some people do see higher temps, but I would not worry unless it consistently stayed above 80.

The consensus seems to be that CoreTemp more accurately reports the temp for the Mini than does SpeedFan.

Everest Ultimate's newest version (5.0.1) reads the TJunction on the Atom correctly now as well.
