Default Card reader capacity - 03-13-2009, 02:03 AM

What is the upper limit to the card reader capacity? If I get a 32GB HDSC for example, would it be able to read it? Also would it be fast enough to stream some higher quality (480i) video from it?

Well for SDHC, you can support any card size on the market at the moment. one of the things you have to think about when you get a card is the size of the movie file. its hard to say depending on the encoding of the video. check the read speeds of the card they vary from 1 MBps on up.

size of the file / time of file in sec = MBps and then check that against the video you want to watch.

32GB is the limit for the SDHC format. If you get a Class6 card it will be fast enough, but good luck finding one in that size. Perhaps a good Class4 card will work.
