Default Models with Bluetooth? - 02-01-2009, 12:10 AM

Really dumb question: how do you know if your mini 9 includes bluetooth?

I got a refurb 16 gig/webcam/1 gig/ubuntu machine. The bios mentions bluetooth. People talk about it... but I've never seen it mentioned on any product info.

In Windows (sorry don't know about Ubuntu), you can check for the VT icon in the system tray, or look for it in device manager.

Look for the device manager in the unit. If it has bluetooth installed, it is usually seen there. Check the applications also.

I've also found that you can look up the service tag on Dell's site and that'll tell you too.

On the inside of the bottom access panel cover you can find little squares that list the FCC-approval information for the various wireless devices that the machine shipped with. There are little pop-out pieces in the silver plating there--one for the WiFi card, another for BlueTooth, and I'm assuming the third is for the WWAN card (it's still covered in both of my Minis). If only one of those panels is uncovered then you only have WiFi.
