Hello, I have a Dell Inspiron Mini. The battery died previously so I had kept it connected to the charger in order for it to run. While I was on the internet just minding my own business it shut off. Thinking that I had disconnected the charger, I plugged it in and started it up. It sent me to the windows error recovery portion and i clicked Launch Startup Repair (recommended) thinking it was a little problem. It says Windows is loading files, directs back to the dell page were it seems to load- stops halfway, and sends me back to the windows error recovery. It appears to go on loop and if I try and access Safe Mode, says it loading files and then sends me back to the windows error recovery. My only wish now is to somehow save my files that were on the computer and to hell with the rest of it. However, if you have any guidance or help whatsoever i'll appreciate it.

Wait for someone who likes Windows 1st, as I am not pleased with Win XP today. If you can't wait, try here, Desktop | Ubuntu . Create a USB flash drive of Ubuntu but try it without installing. You can boot from the USB & see your windows partition on your HD/SSD. You can then copy & save your files.

Which model Dell Mini do you have? The symptom sounds like disk corruption, plus something wrong in the charging circuit or with the battery.
