infinite minis...USB to DVI to TV display - 01-22-2009, 09:13 PM
Three trips to microcenter and a lot of fiddling with TV settings, I can finally use my LCD TV as a monitor for my mini! Attach old USB docking station, wireless keyboard, and mouse -- and I have a solution that takes up less space in my tiny apartment and is cheaper than a dedicated monitor. Used a converter which plugs into a USB port and converts the signal to DVI. My TV had an available DVI input.
Used this product ($60 after rebate):

I supect I could have used this converter by the same manufacturer ($40 after rebate):

TV is a Sharp LC-32GA5U. Attached photo of mini taking a photo of the tv displaying the mini taking a photo of the tv displaying...
BTW, save yourself an extra trip by verifying whether you need a male/male or female/male DVI chord. I needed a M/M for my setup.
