Just got a 10v from eabay osx 10.6 is installed but getting the f1 battery not recognised I cant afford a dell battery at the moment any recomendations of a alternative ftom ebay uk

who installed OSX?

Dell Mini 10 (Obsidian Black 1010), 2gb RAM, 1.6ghz 533mhz FSB (Z530) processor,A10 BIOS, 750gb WD Scorpio Blue Hard Drive (5400rpm), Intel GMA 500 Integrated Graphics, TV Tuner, Bluetooth 2.1 module with EDR, 1.3mp Camera, 1366x768 HD Screen, Wireless 1510 b/g/n mini card, 6 cell (56WHr) Battery..every option except GPS (wasnt out yet), 4gb SDHC, 8gb Flashdrive, Targus Netbook Chillpad, Targus Sport Case, Windows XP Pro SP3 (98gb)/Windows 7 Ultimate (600gb) (Dual Boot)

Folks in this forum generally frown on buying Minis with OS X preloaded. It's a copyright violation and, if you haven't learned how to install OS X yourself, you're just likely to get into trouble sooner or later. Anyway, that has no bearing on the battery issue.

As you have found, some non-Dell batteries cause the Mini to complain. Some don't. Sometimes you can recover by removing and installing the battery while plugged in.

ordered new battery fitted f1 problem now gone I am waiting on a usb stick to reinstall
sl got the disc waiting had the 10v cheap and its got a 160 gb ssd so I am a happy bunny
