Boot the XP CD and choose the "advanced" or "custom" option and delete all partitions. Then install into the unpartitioned space.

I ordered the cd drive to be first, but it does not give me a way to boot from disk. It still goes to the SSD. Any help would be great! Alan.

Assuming you are booting from a USB CD/DVD drive, you want to specify USB as the boot device. Also, make sure that "Legacy USB" is "On" in the BIOS.

To make it cleaner, suggest that you format your SSD then install your XP. Just make sure that you have all the required driver for your devices before doing it so.
