Default igfxpers - 01-21-2009, 07:16 PM

What exactly is igfxpers? And if I turn it off will it prevent my startup resolution flicker?

(When I start up my mini, I get a screen flicker and then my resolution changes. Can I easily prevent this from happening so that I have a "prettier" startup? )

Thanks!

It is part of the Intel video driver. If you update your Bios to A04 it should fix the resolution change.

I've looked this issue up and still can't find an answer. I'm running A04 and I still have the screen flicker on startup...any solution to this without side effects?

The screen flicker is normal. The issue was that the screen would start at 800x600 and then resize to 1024x600, which would cause your desktop icons to move. The A04 Bios fixes this. The flicker is caused by the video card checking to see what is connected, like if you have an external monitor attached. The fast, one time flicker at each start up is normal and is just part of the video driver package.
