Default Osx 10.7 - 07-23-2011, 05:02 PM

Hi!

I have a Dell mini 9 w/2gb ram, 16gb ssd and Ubuntu 11.04.

I'd like to try osx 10.7 from a usb drive from Apple.

I'd like to try it and not install.

Any thoughts?

Also, is there a quick guide somewhere in the forum?

Thanks!

KegHead

well, you must purchase a Retail copy to load it, anything other than a genuine Retail Version of OSX is Illegal and not allowed to be discussed on this forum.....and once you do purchase it you might as well install it....I do believe it can be installed from USB and I am not too sure whether or not you can run it from USB, I believe it must be installed on the hard drive (or SSD in this case).....you future questions regarding OSX should be placed in the Mac OSX section here on this board....

PS. Welcome to the forum......

OS X 10.7 will not install, as-is, on a Mini 9 or any other system that is not 64-bit capable. I have seen a discussion of creating a patched kernel to allow installs on a 32-bit processor, but nothing indicating anyone has had success with this yet.

Watch our OS X section of the forum for developments.

I've seen things on the Internet from people pretending to install Lion on 32bits macs, like this: OS X Lion Core Duo and Solo processor port | Just another WordPress.com site but no tutorial, so far...

There is some discussion of this in the Mac OS section of the forum, but I don't recall seeing any successes yet.
