Hi,
If any of you experts on the dellmini 9 (with mac os x installed) live in Hobart, Australia, I would be interested in meeting up for a tutorial! I need to be shown how things work here, I'll buy you a coffee for the effort, if you have the time!

I just got a dell mini 2nd hand, having trouble figuring it out as i'm a mac user generaally, not all thata computer savy, but wanted a mini netbook that would run os x. Now though, i realise i dont understnd windows well enough to figure out the dell mini. For instance, how does one check the specs of the hardware? In mac you would just click the apple icon and "about this mc" shows you how much ram, internal memory etc there is. How do i do that in the mini 9? To see what the previous owner has done to it? He said he upgraded to 2GB ram, but how can i be sure?

In Windows, right click on My Computer and select Properties. Should show the memory, drive capacity, etc.

You can check it in the BIOS as well, but if you aren't PC savvy, better not to get into that.

Sorry Ausi chap - but Sydney based, not based in Tassi, u can get OSX running just fine on the mini mine is running 10.6.7 everything works including the mic and sound which did require a work around but if your struggling in XP then this may be an easy solution for you. If you need any help installing OSX just send a PM.

there is an entire section on this board dedicated to just the Mini 9 and MAC OSX, I suggest posting any further threads regarding this subject in that section here:
