Default New to ubuntu and already having problems - 01-18-2009, 06:57 PM

Hi, Can anyone help?
Recently got myself a mini 910 with Ubuntu 8.04 pre-installed. After a couple days messing around I mistakenly deleted something or other and now can not boot the machine up. It came with an Ubuntu installation disc and a Dell drivers and utilities disc, however the mini does not have a optical drive to run such discs from. Can anyone advise me on how to achieve a re-install using these discs without an optical drive and/or is it worth doing so with a copy of Xp which I have a spare one of. (I have a spare 2gig Pen drive lying around if it helps) Any help would greatly be appreciated.
Many thanks
