Default How do I know what version of Mini 10 I have? - 03-02-2011, 05:10 PM

Simple question, I hope...

My dell Mini10 is a few years old. How do I confirm if it is 1010, 1012 or something else? On the nameplate all it says is "Inspiration Mini 10". By this I'm guessing that it is the earlier version that is now referred to as the 1010. Am I right?

It is either the 1010 or the 1011 (due to how long ago you said you got it)

Which Processor and Graphics Card is in it?

a) If its a z520 or z530 Processor with GMA500 graphics and has an HDMI port then its a 1010 (Mini 10)
b) If is a n270 or n280 Processor with GMA945 graphics and has a VGA port then its a 1011 (Mini 10v)
c) If its a n450 Processor with GMA3150 graphics then its a 1012 or 1018...both have VGA ports but the 1018 only has 2 USB's as opposed to the 1012 which has 3 USB's (due to the age I think you can rule these 2 out)

You can check this either in the BIOS or in Windows go to 'Control Panel' then click on System

here is a pretty good comparison between the 10 and 10v:

Easiest way is to look at the Dell label on the bottom and find the four digit code that follows "Inspiron". You can also take the Dell Service Tag code (seven alphanumeric) and look it up at the Dell support site.
