Default holmes4 can you look - 02-26-2011, 08:47 PM

In another post you stated

"The problem with the XP install is that a standard XP install lacks a driver for the SSD bridge chip. Others have reported this issue. Windows 7 installs fine, as does using the Dell restore CD."

Is there any way I could find this driver? And maybe use nlite to install it so I can install WinXP Pro.Which you have already tried to help me with.

I just added another Mini9 to my computers and have two, now niether will let me install Pro.
I got this one on a trade for a old antique outboard motor I considered not worth the 50$$ I asked for it.

I'm sorry to say that I don't know. I'm not even certain it's a driver. All I know is that lots of people report problems installing a "regular" XP CD so I was guessing it's a driver issue, though I can't really understand why that should be so. I've heard of similar problems from people trying to install Win7 on the 1010.

I installed Win 7 Ultimate on my 1010 using the WinsetupfromUSB utility although I did have Win XP Pro partitioned already and Win 7 just took what was left, not sure if that made a difference or not but then again I am on a regular SATA hard drive also

Sorry, meant to say 1010 with an SSD. A regular hard drive is ok.
