Default Do I have a 10 or a 10v? - 12-14-2010, 07:44 AM

I ordered a Dell Inspiron 10v on the net. But then when I look under the computer it says Dell Inspiron mini 10. Is this possibly not 10v?

regards

The old Mini 10 is different than other 10" Dell Minis. The old 10 is model 1010, has a Z-series Atom CPU, GMA500 graphics, HDMI out. No other 10" Mini is like that.

Other 10" Minis (models 10v/1011, 1012, 1018) have N-series CPUs, GMA950 (10v) or GMA3150 (1012/1018) graphics, VGA out.

What you want to look for is the four digit model number - Dell has reused the names "Mini 10" and "Mini 10v" for other models.

go into windows device manager and check the graphics adapter and see which you have as reflex said..that will determine which model Mini 10 you have..and if you have an HDMI port then its a 1010 but if you have a VGA port check the graphics to determine which Mini 10 (1011/1012/1018)

Well, no, that won't tell for sure either. The model number will.
