Default Is there a fix - 10-26-2010, 12:19 AM

I discovered my scroll right doesn't work. The key at the bottom right of the key pad that also has End in blue on it. Is there a fix, or is something broke?
Also if I may ask I have CA protection,is there something better for free, that may use less space ? Thanks ahead of time!

For a free antivirus solution, try Microsoft Security Essentials.

As for your key, does it not work in any application?

Default Microsoft Security Essentials - 10-26-2010, 12:56 AM

Yes, there is a free download for this virus program on Microsoft Site. It works seemlessly in the back ground with the windows os programs. They recently discontinued support for the Windows Live virus program that i had used for 3 years. The essentials is their new addition to the windows community.

No it does not do any thing.I found it be accessing the BIOS and changing the boot to CD. I then tried it for right scroll and its a no go.
I also have my BIOS password protected I dont know how I did it but it is! Can I set it to no password required?? If so how? Thanks holmes4

If your BIOS became password-protected, you can try calling Dell support and asking for the unlock code based on your system tag. I know they'll do this if you are under warranty. If not, I have seen on eBay services that will do this for you for a fee.

The only thing I can think of is to reset the keyboard map, but that's a long shot. Which model Mini do you have?

Setting keyboard matrix
1. Turn off your computer
2. If your computer is connected to the ac adapter, disconnect the ac adapter from the computer
3. Press and hold the following key combination for the desired keyboard matrix :
_ United States : <Fn><S>
_ United Kingdom or US-International : <Fn><K>
_ Japan : <Fn><J>
_ Korea : <Fn><E>
4. Connect the ac adapter to the computer then plug it into a wall outlet or surge protector
5. Release the key combination
