Default part needed - 10-07-2010, 04:03 PM

Hi,
I just replaced the LCD in my mini 9. When I slid the clamp for the keyboard ribbon cable up to remove it, one side broke off. I was able to do a temporary fix by putting tape on the backside of the cable to make it thicker, but I would really like to replace the moving part of the keyboard connector. Our good friends at dell suggested I but a tech support option for $59, and extended warranty for another $89, and then have the MObo replaced. Seemed a bit overkill to me for a 2 cent piece of plastic. Does anyone know where I can get one?

Thanks,
Michael

I am not aware that the clamp is a separately sold part.

If the part isn't available, does anyone know where I can buy dead motherboards for the 910, and scavenge the part myself?

Try the For Sale section here, or maybe eBay.
