Default HDD cleaning - 08-22-2010, 04:10 AM

Hi, I use Glary Utilities, often as a cleaner on my Mini 9. Is it possible do you think, to "overclean" the drive, i.e. maybe causing wear or something by cleaning it every day?, - I never defrag. though.

Anything which causes disk writes will cause wear on an SSD. But it's possible that "disk cleaning" can save writes in the end, by removing unneeded software, shrinking the registry, etc.

Daily cleaning sounds excessive to me. But unless the software is horribly written (constantly writing and rewriting lots of data), I don't think it'll be a problem.

Thanks for that, the reason I clean so often is that I only have an 8GB SSD and I need to keep on top of the junk.
