Default Non-Bloated Drivers For Inspiron Mini 9? - 01-03-2009, 10:47 PM

I am wondering if anyone has or can make some drivers that don't contain all this crap Intel and Realtek throw in? Why can't they just make a driver that installs a few inf files, a few dlls and a few sys/drv files and not all these ugly bloated menus/programs/services and stupid junk? I don't even want it touching my system!

Even manually installing them by pointing to the extracted files location still forces a bunch of exe's/menus and stuff (because they are referenced in the infs?). At least it did the last time I installed this stuff on my parent's laptop. My Inspiron Mini 9 has not arrived yet.

Ati has awesome drivers. You can install them without their dumb menu and then use a nice small efficient program like Ati Tray Tools to change the settings. Too bad Inspiron Mini 9's don't use Ati. Intel's GMA drivers suck.

These are the newest drivers I have found on each "manufacturer's" page:

Bloated/Need "Fixing":

Intel Graphics Media Accelerator v14.32.4.4926 for Intel GMA 950 GPU
Realtek High Definition Audio Codecs v2.13 for Realtek ALC268 SPU

Broadcom Wireless LAN v7.10 B** for Dell Wireless 1395 aka Broadcom BCM4310 Wi-Fi **Only found on HP's webpage apparently?
Intel Chipset Device Software v9.0.0.1008 for Intel 945PM/GS Express Chipset
JMicron JMB385 v1.00.19.04** for JMicron JMB385 3-In-1 Flash Card Reader **Only available from Dell's page?
Reatek RTL81XX Drivers v5.707** for Realtek RTL8102EL LAN
**Does not contain entries in inf for 8102, must be manually modified from Dell's

Not Sure Yet:
Synaptics TouchPad v10.1.8** for Synaptics TouchPad
**Dell's page actually seems to have newer ones than Synaptic's page though, v11.1.22
