Default Help identifying Mini 10 vs. 10v - 04-05-2010, 02:52 PM

I'm looking at Dell Canada's website and am having a hard time identifying which is the 10v.

I want to hackintosh.

They have the Dell mini 10, and the "New" Dell mini 10 (which I think is the 10v)

Help!

PS is the Broadcom card worth the extra $?

Wrong, if they have the Mini 10 it is the 1010, the Mini 10v is the 1011 and the new "Mini 10" is the 1012.....all 3 can be hackintoshed, the Mini 10v (1011) is the most popular, there are people who have successfully hackintoshed the Mini 10 (1010), and I have read where the new Mini 10 (1012) has also been hackintoshed although with what limits I do not know but it has been done, there are guides posted here on the forum if you search....

PS. Welcome to the forum...

Also the Mini 10v (1011) has all but officially been discontinued by Dell, you may or may not find it on the Dell outlet it varies from time to time, I saw Circuit City on line still had some but they were the slime green color for $259 (USD)...you could also check the "For Sale" section on this forum also.....

As far as the broadcom card goes, if you can afford the extra money..get it, why not?.....when I got my Mini 10, I got every conceivable option available, if Dell had it I got it (see my sig below)....besides its only money

Thanks for the reply and the welcome.

I'm going to try and get a hold of a 1011, but would I be right in assuming it's only a matter of time before the 1012 is compatible with OSX?

To keep up to date on the 1012 compatability check the Mini 1012 section on the forum, that will be more helpful than me as where I only have to check it anyway....
