Default Fleeing the dark OS - 03-17-2010, 03:46 AM

I've got a mini 10 for me and a mini 10v for my sister. I want to put linux on mine and snow leopard on hers, and have the thumb drives set to do both. . .but for some reason I can't get either to boot. The BIOS settings are the same (all enabled except wake from sleep). It recognizes the other program sources, but when I click on them, nothing happens. What am I missing?

If it fails to boot off a flash drive, that usually means there's an issue with the data on the flash drives. When I did my snow leopard/win7 deal on my mini, it took me several tries before the flash drives "took" and the mini was able to recognize them as bootable drives. Wipe the flash drives and try again, is what I would suggest.

Make sure that USB Legacy support is enabled in the BIOS.

Also, make sure that you're plugged into AC power.

Try a different flash drive

Also make sure the drive has been IMAGED from the original install media. Copying files will often not suffice.
